Menno Kroezen Bumpercar Concept


A designer from Eindhoven, Menno Kroezen has designed a concept car dubbed Bumpercar.

This car is speifically built to allow a person to experience a crash as realistic as possible without harming the driver or damaging the vehicle.

The Bumpercar consists of a narrow, unbalanced wheel base and a roll cage that is cylindrical in shape where it will it will roll on its side when it is being tipped in a crash. The Bumpercar will also roll back to its original horizontal position due to its low center of gravity.

Mazda Crossover SUV Concept

Recently,at the 2008 Moscow International Automobile Salon, Mazda has announced that it will unveil its latest concept car. The theme for Mazda at the motor show is “crosswinds”.

The new concept car is a sporty, compact crossover designed especially for the Russian market and will be developed based on the new design direction called Nagare which follows the footsteps of Nagare, Ryuga, Hakaze, Taiki and Furai concept cars.

Nagare means “flow” in Japanese, represents a new approach to expressing movement in car design, taking as inspiration the flow patterns of natural elements, such as the wind.

According to Mazda, this concept SUV is designed to appeal particularly to younger SUV owners who have a strong sense of style.

Peugeot 207 Le Mans Series Special Edition

Recently, Peugeot has released the special edition version of the Peugeot 207 to honor the diesel powered 908 HDi FAP Le Mans race car after it secure the top three positions in qualifying for the 24 hours Le Mans endurance race.

This car is powered by three engine types, starting with the 110 hp 1.6 HDi 16V DPFS and 150 hp 1.6 HPT 16V engines receiving a chrome-plated single exhaust pipe while the top of the range is the 175 hp 1.6 HPT 16V engine receiving a chrome-plated dual exhaust pipe.

A sport front bumper with Shadow aluminium grille and Black Chrome headlights with AFS, body colored side moldings, bumpers strips and sideview mirror housings, decorative racing stripe along the bonnet, roof, and rear spoiler and a Peugeot logo on the doors and Le Mans logos on the liftgate features the Peugeot 207 Le Mans Series special edition.

The car is also getting special multispoke 17-inch Pitlane aluminium wheels and available in two colors, Banquise White and Obsidien Black. Only 2000 units of the Peugeot 207 Le Mans Series special edition.

For the interior of the 207, it features front and rear bucket seats, RC front and rear mat covers, aluminum gearshift lever knob, pedal assembly, foot rest and door sill. The steering wheel is getting an aluminum numbered from 1 to 2000 plaque.

VW and Apple iCar

Last year it became known that Apple and Volkswagen were in talks about the possibility of building an "iCar" that would be upgraded with a series of products from the producer of the omnipresent iPod.

Toyota Aygo Crazy Concept

Recently, Toyota had unveiled the Aygo Crazy Concept, the model is based on the Aygo hatch. The concept is a car that is all about the joy of driving, with no electronic handling aids, no power steering and no ABS.

A 1.8 VVTi engine that powered the final generation of Celica and MRS is powered this Aygo Crazy. However the engine is mounted at the rear and driving the rear wheels through the 5-speed manual gearbox.

Power is increased with the addition of a Toyota Motorsport turbo conversion kit producing 200 hp and maximum torque of 240 Nm compared to the stock Aygo’s 68 hp and 93 Nm. At 1,050 kg, the Aygo Crazy capable to achieve the top speed of 127 mph.

The concept features custom-made body, 17-inch alloys wrapped in Goodyear 225/45 tires and carbon fiber rear wing taken directly from the 200mph race cars in the American Champ Car series.

A bespoke cooling system has been designed, with a huge, front-mounted aluminium radiator to cope with the greater engine performance. The suspension system meanwhile is from the MR2 Roadster, with MacPherson struts front and rear while the Tein dampers improve the performance. For the interior, the Aygo Crazy features purpose-built sports seats with four-point safety harnesses and a full roll cage.

Mosler MT900 GTR XX

Mosler’s 20th anniversary and they present a European model listening to the name MT900 GTR XX. Only that name gives most of us a good feeling!

For 20th anniversary, this latest light weight version of the GTR receives the added designation of two roman numerals, XX. Powertrain remains the same as the GTR with the 600 bhp 7.0-liter LS7 Corvette V8 and 6 speed clutch. No performance specs are offered yet, but we can tell you that the normal GTR sprints to 62 mph (100 kmh) in just 3.1 seconds and tops out at 211 mph (340 kmh). Total weight should be around 1,060 kg (2336 lbs.).

WALD Lexus IS-F Styling Kit

Recently WALD International, a Japanese car tuning specialist, has released its new styling kit for the Lexus IS-F.

This kit include a larger front intakes with a separate brake duct and a dual lower splitter, wider side sills, new side skirts, shark-gill extractor vents behind the rear wheels, a new rear diffuser and a rear spoiler.
