Official 2010 Camaro SS picture by General Motors

General Motors has released the official image of the 2010 Camaro SS on the net. The high-performance SS version will be powered by a 6.2-liter V8 with a choice of a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission. The manual transmission SS will be equipped with GM’s LS3 6.2L V8 can capable to produce 422 HP and 408 lb.-ft. of torque (553 Nm).

However for the automatic transmission-equipped models will use a new L99 6.2L V8 that’s based on the LS3. The engine will include the GM’s fuel-saving Active Fuel Management feature that enables the engine to run on only four cylinders during light-load driving conditions. The automatic version engine is capable to produce 400 HP and 395 lb.-ft. of torque (535 Nm) .
